before mithrun's accident, he used to be quite social! however, he was honestly kind of a prick deep down and had a lot of issues that aren't really constructive to a proper relationship (also, he was in love with another woman up until the accident, so like) (though it's also canon that, in his head, he kinda didn't respect her that much either)

mithrun's name irl is morgan chatainne, and his family is Wealthy (mithrun himself went into research and was a ~luminary of his generation - also, uh, entered a crime syndicate and got involved in drug money, which does seem like a likely link to entertainment business, but money deleted that any suspicion the police might've had), so i can see him + the gautiers having crossed similar socialite circles. if you're interested, he and mithrun could've entered this relationship they probably secretly both knew wouldn't work out, pikashook it didn't work out and sylvain was sylvain, and they broke it off.

mithrun is a weirdo now post his accident (it was on the news briefly, it was quite recent) so it might be kind of weird for sylvain to interact with, on top of the whole ex thing. however, despite mithrun being so "whatever" about most things in life, it would be incredibly funny to me if he could still hold random bits of whatever sylvain might've done against him. brain injury cannot stop your ex from being so much your ex!!!

no i'm up for it! they met at some industry party, sylvain kept in touch with him because wow, we're both pretty awful people, right? haha wanna date? and sylvain was probably unnerved that they're both pretty awful people and being perceived is A Crime, so he broke it off. not like it's anything serious, right?

he'd probably check in on him, exes aside, just wondering how mithrun's been doing; and absolutely he can hold it against him that sylvain is pretty terrible in a relationship. wants something long-term, can't hold anything long-term. i once wrote him as a gemini pretending to be a scorpio in a psl i was doing with someone: that kind of thing.

yeah, that can absolutely be how it went. mithrun back then probably took on the relationship for appearances/self-validation (i have a partner, he's good looking, i'm accomplished, see how good i am?) and felt he didn't have to worry about appearances with someone who kinda sucked like he did; i think would've 100% held it against sylvain for breaking up with him even if frankly that's not even the most unreasonable move to make in a relationship like that like just look at them,

despite being kind of a prick, i can see mithrun having formed an attachment to sylvain/The Concept of their relationship; he probably would have felt betrayed when sylvain broke it off in a, like, "what, was i not good enough for you either?" kind of thing - in part also because he's pretty sore over the fact that the person he loved at the time chose his brother (not a prick) over him. (there was probably also a moment of indignation, too, where he was offended sylvain broke it off with him instead of the other way around.)

in a relationship, mithrun (as he was) was probably pretty outwardly perfect, if at least publicly - never late, always the correct level of affectionate, extremely flexible but firm when needed, etc. in private sylvain probably got mithrun's slightly filtered thoughts/personality - though he was never directly awful, someone being Nice! :) probably has a weird vibe when you know they're Really Not Great. if sylvain hadn't broken it off mithrun probably would've kept it going in a vice grip until it crashed and burned terribly.

if he checked in on him pre accident, i think mithrun would be like "^_^ so nice to see you again! anyway, i've got to go, but i'm sure you know all about leaving people!"; post accident, he'd find mithrun is pretty changed - blunt, indifferent, but probably with more mixed feelings toward sylvain. wouldn't shoo him off but, for the fun of it, i'll say he's probably still figuring out those weird ex feelings. u sure u good to party up u sure u won't just log off halfway through jw
