Plotting: fai is going to be his pretend extroverted self and be hitting up people at the party to make some friends and hopefully have some folks he can call on for parties since shadow warlock isn't the easiest class to solo.......
as for his AU, fai is earning his phd in physical chemistry at a university in california! he looks extremely similar to his avatar, so feel free to have seen him around the bay area, especially during his time as a barista. fai also does tutoring for math and science at both a high school and university level, so if your character would ever sign up for that, i'd be happy to work with some pre-established cr! he'll do online and in person tutoring.
just know that he'll probably deny having ever met because god forbid he ever be perceived, i'm sorry he's like this
