Name: Shay Contact:antiquating Invite: Which one of you will claim me?
Considerations: I drank a lethal amount of blorbo juice, so my current frontrunner is Miharu Mishima from the visual novel Fatal Twelve. She is a hardworking, beautiful, intelligent young lady who works multiple jobs and has the self-esteem of an eggplant. That doesn't mean I can't be enabled otherwise, though, into someone else who lives over here... or any of the other nerds I play who I haven't managed to get up there yet. The problem is that once I start thinking about AUing I will go feral. Help me. AU planning: I have a perfectly serviceable canon background here already, so I'm cheating! Similarly to in canon, Miharu will be the daughter of a fairly neglectful single mother, struggling to put herself through school, and generally having trouble making meaningful human connections. She'll likely not be a gamer and instead have been encouraged into the beta to meet others. Miharu is 17 in canon and would be turning 18 literally right after the game ended anyway, so I will probably nudge her to 18 in this AU for convenience's sake and to enable her to have a couple more options for self-sufficiency in her IRL life.
While AUing a total normal modern day young woman into a total normal modern video game setting is pretty easy, one thing that makes Miharu's canon self (and AUing her) so compelling is that she... has a friend she really likes! A lot! She's very attached. Not in a super healthy way. While I'm cool with seeing if she finds such a friend in the AU organically, I would also be thrilled to set something up ahead of time.
Questions: Can I have my own grunty? Me, Shay, specifically.
