A NEW ROOT TOWN.

A new, mysterious Root Town is now available to everyone! The only problem is that no one knows the name of this town, and the bridges that help you navigate the area appear to be a little... dangerous. Put on your toolbelts and help make things a little safer! Or don't. That works too.

PROFESSIONS.

Have you wanted to gather plants, create potions, or enhance your own armor? Well, you're in luck! The professions system has arrived, and so has a crafts festival along with it! Submit your own recipe ideas by September 1st and you'll have a chance at it becoming an official recipe everyone can make!

MORE GLITCHES.

Be careful when you log in, because you might just swap avatars with someone else. Either accept your fate and get used to your new look or coordinate logging out together.

The wind is also too strong in the new Root Town. Maybe a little too strong. Try not to get knocked over, and also try to ignore the whispers of those from your past that float along on the wind.

"HAPPY" ACCIDENTS.

For such a big new feature, professions are bound to have a few minor glitches to work out. From a full denim-clad armor set to a crystal ball, some of the items you can create are a little... odd.

Think you can impress the Head Admin with your culinary skills? Then step up to the challenge! For your hard work, you'll get a chef outfit skin, and potentially a cute little Pomchi to follow you around if you really impress him! Oh, but be sure you don't do a terrible job either. Who knows what could happen?

Plans: I am putting this up here with my top level basically done LMAO but Kara's sure going to hear some unpleasant voices. Also, she'll be focusing on alchemy for the time being! Strange, isn't it, that the leader of Glamour wouldn't go for the Jeweler class right away. Maybe in the future :) :)

NEW UPDATE STUFF:

• For the new systems I'm leaning towards Alchemy for Matoba, since it suits a magic-user pretty well and he absolutely would want to abuse the truth serum etc. But just in general it'd be a nice replacement for support magic for him, I think?? RIP Shadow Warlocks the squishy brainless DPS class
• He's got some armor and skins and stuff he might be willing to trade???? After glancing at the GP Shop, he'd be willing to toss the trade thing on some items. He is nothing if not a business man, come do business with him :)
• The winds will be fucking with him for sure but he's pretty good at repressing/ignoring that stuff so I don't see it doing much to him rn
• He refuses to feed Hien. Get your own food, bitch. (see below sigh)
• It's time to GRIND TO LEVEL 50 YEAH so Matoba will want to run a lot of dungeons!!!


PERSONAL PLOT:

Closes eyes okay so....... As of right now Matoba has his fingers in a few pies. Most of which they really shouldn't be in.
• He recently made a deal with Mithrun to exchange information off-Fragment on the downlow about "dv" and the game, especially wrt how the game has access to their brains/memories/etc and just kinda talking shit about that
• After talking with Fai he's going to be looking into who CC Corp's investors and backing are, especially because he wants to know what yakuza shell corps are definitely backing them (for v personal reasons)...
• He's still worsties with Owen and also has been gaslighting him on his OnlyFans for the last few weeks, ganba Matoba on getting that dirt so you can honeytrap him in the game
• He's fucking Hien sigh I use current tense because he will do it again. Hien got hints as to what his real life "profession" is and Matoba likewise has guessed Hien's background but doesn't rly rly know???? They're still guncatting at each other but hornily I guess

I'd like for some of Matoba's overarcing personal plot/goals and lore to start dropping this next month since I was much cagier with it last month, so I'm playing around with a few ways to make that happen! Bodyswap might be an option depending on what's possible with it, and I also had the idea of using the hotsprings for another.... But I gotta do some background plotting for that SO that's TBD. But yeah, that's kinda state of the Matoba!

• CR that have started to get a feel for what Matoba is about starting to confirm some things about him??
• I think I'd like to keep bodyswap plotting to characters he has spicy plot things going on with so tentatively open to this but with the intent of the above possible info double-dipping or loredropping stuff!!!

Plans: i'm gonna tag out to everyone i can on the new event post if it works for oria or so god help me.

- The winds are gonna be Rough on Oria. Will he care? No... he's heard them many times anyway personally, so if your character needs comfort, he'll try his best to provide.

- Oria will be taking up every profession and is currently level 2 because he's crazy and so am I. If you want anything, he'd be up for buying/selling/trading items and materials! He likes being self-sufficient, so he'll be no life-ing this mechanic in particular for now. He is also notoriously terrible with cooking, so don't ask him to freeform cooking. He will be sticking with game recipes, thanks.

- Level cap increase means Oria will want to PvP others who also hit the level cap... after he gets there. This will probably happen in Patch 3.5 because there probably won't be many people hitting it this week? idk.

- Anything to do with body swapping, beach, and hot springs locations will be on a case by case basis for Oria. Hit me up!

• I'm going to be doing closed starters and tagging out this event, just so I can get caught up on some IRL stuff.
  
• Misteaks will somehow just be working himself harder around the island the more those whispers blow. Imagine that. Good thing there's the bridge project and he is a Big Guy. He is going to tire himself out but I'm sure this is very fine and healthy.
  
• He is 100% multicrafting for the sake of cooking recipes and is going to be deeply involved in making something delicious for Hien. Is it because he gets to eat all his attempts in making it perfect? Maybe. :9
  
• Misteaks will be offline every Saturday and some Fridays starting on Saturday the 2nd, since he plays college football! This will be ongoing until plot does plot things to interrupt it (I see you modchans im waiting for the shoe to drop). If your character watches collegiate USA football, feel free to notice that one of the backup linebackers for CAL looks familiar with his helmet off.
  
• He is vice-creator of Fandom Foodies with Levi and is the one who heads the food portion, which is likely to be buzzing with that new event, so if you're in that guild and your character is interested in a guild raid for supplies to make very Anime Appealing Aesthetic dishes for the game then let Misteaks or Levi know.


Seeking: I wanna deepen CR before shit starts hitting the fan, lbr. Always looking for raid parties of any size for any reason, exploration buddies for the root towns or special areas, or plot discussion threads IRT the ongoing glitch issues that are more detrimental to the players (Misteaks doesn't care much about the more minor stuff).
Offering: Large sweet boy here to lift many heavy things and pull people up from falling off the island and taste test anything you put in front of him. He can and will end friendships if your food is too horrific.
