it's time for a little pvppppppp *airhorn sounds bhbhbhbhhhhh*
Hello, beta testers! It's your friendly neighborhood Fandaniel here with a little thing called Telophoroi's First Annual PVP Tournament! Who's Fandaniel? What's Telophoroi? Does it matter? Not really! It's just the name I'm going with.
An IC post will be going up to announce this but there's no need to reply to that to sign up for the World's one and (maybe?) only PVP tournament! Mod-approved, player-run, and with prizes generated by our ever-so-helpful NPC Zelkova!
If you are interested in involving your character, be sure to sign up under the comment for it below!
You do not have to be at level cap (Level 25) to participate! The arena levels folks up (or down) to 25 while in the arena for the tournament!
But before we do that, let's go over the RULES of the tournament. I've selected a specific set of rules to decide who wins and it involves a lot of RNG rolling.
How it works is as follows:
Just be sure to log the final numbers under your match header in the OOC post so I can keep track of who moves forward in the tournament. Try to get the rolls done as soon as you feasibly can.
But now for the most important part... prizes!!!
The prizes for entering the tournament are as follows:
Then we have the SUPER SECRET REASON that Fandaniel has bothered to set this up at all: To Dogpile Mr. Head Admin Hien. At the end of the tournament, he's planning to call everyone down into the arena for a special event, including Hien, and then he will announce that Hien has agreed to take them all on at once!!! This is 100% a lie but he is presenting it as something that he and Hien planned.
For this, the arena will have brought Hien's stats down to what they would be at level 25 and we will be using a slightly altered ruleset to make the winning decision quickly.
To do that, there will be a sign-up for those interested in being a part of this log thread in the applicable comment below (separate from the tournament). For every player involved the Beta Tester Team gets ONE roll, and for every player involved Team Hien (aka just him lol) gets ONE roll. Using the rules for the matches, we add up the HIT points and highest number wins.
And that's it!

3. If you roll a 20, you get an extra roll! You do not have to follow the 11 or above rule for the extra roll from a 20! Any number can be added! That's what makes it a critical hit~
4. Add up all rolls in the HIT range (including the additional number from a 20 regardless of the number rolled). For example, if I roll a 12 and a 15, I would add those up to get 27, though you'll do that for all your rolls that hit + whatever number you get if you roll a 20. This is your SCORE.
5. The player with the highest score wins the match and moves on toward the final fight!

FOR ALL ENTRANTS: Everyone who enters gets ONE armor skin for their pet Grunty!
These skins are based on the different Fragment classes! You do not need to choose the same class that your character is. It can be any of them! The exception is, of course, the Adept Rogue, who is... really just any class they want to be, so! Examples of what the skins look like are essentially Grunty versions of the ones found in the actual .hack games:
Flick Reaper, Lord Partizan, Wavemaster, Harvest Cleric, Shadow Warlock, Twin Blade, Blade Brandier, Steam Gunner, Tribal Grappler, Macabre Dancer, Edge Punisher
THE WINNER: The winner of the final battle gets first choice of these skins: Big Bad Wolf skin, Little Red Riding Hood skin, Grandma skin, Woodcutter skin, and 3000 gold.
RUNNER-UP: The loser of the final battle gets second choice of these skins: Big Bad Wolf skin, Little Red Riding Hood skin, Grandma skin, Woodcutter skin, and 1000 gold.
The winner and runner-up place may only pick one of the listed skins. Runner-up may not pick the skin the winner chose.
